PCSWMM Licensing and Pricing
Pricing
The table below lists prices for the enterprise and single-user licenses. Also listed is the update and support renewal prices, the bundled cost of PCSWMM and workshop training, and the educational license pricing (for qualified educational use).

PCSWMM licensing includes both single user and enterprise licenses. If you have more than 2 users in your company, then the enterprise license becomes cost effective as it allows for an unlimited number of users. All licenses include the full software feature set and support for unlimited model sizes (number of nodes/entities). Each license includes telephone and email support, as well as updates, for one full year (12 months) from date of purchase. Updates include both major and minor releases as and when they are made available. Update and support contracts are extended in 1 year periods by purchasing the applicable update & support subscription renewal.
Single user license
A single user license allows for one designated individual (licensee) to use the software, and for the software to be installed on a maximum of two computers (e.g. one desktop and one laptop), for the use of the licensee only. The software license is owned by the purchasing entity (company), however the licensee within the company/organization is the designated user of the software and is the one that qualifies for technical support.
Enterprise license
An enterprise license is granted to a company/organization/government agency and permits an unlimited number of users at that company/organization to use the software. The enterprise license becomes cost effective if you have more than 2 users of the software within the same country.
CHI registers each user and provides software activation codes for those users. Additional/new users can be designated at any time by the company during the year of the subscription. When it is time to renew, the company can review the list of users, determine the users going forward and pay the annual update renewal cost plus the per-user annual support cost for the coming year.
Enterprise licenses are specific to a country and require an annual update and support subscription renewal fee. Companies / organizations with offices in multiple countries need to purchase a separate enterprise license for each country for which there are licensed users, or alternatively, purchase a global enterprise license.
Enterprise licensing includes direct technical support for all registered users for a full year (12 months). The enterprise license subscription is renewed on a yearly basis, the cost for which is divided into a fixed annual update renewal cost and a per-user annual support renewal cost. There is no per user support cost for the first year. Please see the chart above for more information on the per-user support cost.
Global enterprise license
A global enterprise license is similar to an enterprise license, with the removal of the country restriction. A company holding a global enterprise license is permitted an unlimited number of users globally (all countries, all offices). Please contact CHI for a price quote for your company.
Educational license
Educational single-user and multi-user (classroom) licenses are complimentary with a valid verification of your purpose. To qualify, you must be a student or employee of an educational institution and intend to use the software for academic purposes only. To receive a complimentary educational license of PCSWMM please email us.
Workshops
CHI workshops provide an excellent way to learn the programs (both PCSWMM and the USEPA SWMM program), and to keep abreast of the latest developments in terms of both new features and applications. The full software can be purchased with 2 day workshop training (see License with training in the table above), or a time-limited version of the software can be purchased with 2 day workshop training. Please refer to the Workshops section for information on venues near you.

Support

PCSWMM support
PCSWMM licensing includes unlimited direct telephone and email support, as well as software updates, for one full year (12 months) from date of purchase. Updates include both major and minor releases as and when they are made available. Update and support contracts are extended in 1 year periods by purchasing the applicable update & support renewal (see Pricing above).
USEPA SWMM support
Support for SWMM5 is provided through the free SWMM-USERS list server. This is an excellent email-based forum for questions and answers regarding model construction, computational processes, and output interpretation, as well as more theoretical topics related to urban drainage modeling. All the various authors of SWMM are active participants and there are no spam or irrelevant topics tolerated on the list. Running since 1992, the list server has hosted thousands of SWMM discussion threads and a searchable SWMM Q&A knowledgebase is archived on the CHI site for access to past topics.
CHI will also provide direct support for the US EPA SWMM5 engine through our technical support division (for simple answers) free of charge, or through our consulting division for questions requiring a more involved analysis (please call for a cost estimate). CHI is also available for professional engineering consulting work on any urban drainage modeling project.
Peer review services
CHI offers cost-effective and timely model review services. With a quick turn around time, you can gain confidence that your SWMM5 model is setup and performing reasonably for the tasks you have specified. Deliverables include a comprehensive report on the model input and results, along with a list of recommendations for further improvement. Please call 519-767-0197 or email for an estimate.

System Requirements
-
Requirements: All Versions
PCSWMM requires the Microsoft 7, Vista, XP (SP2), or 2000 operating system, with the Microsoft .NET 4.0 framework installed. In addition, it requires a minimum screen resolution of 1024x768 pixels (XGA), a minimum of 1GB of physical memory and 100MB of disk space.
Recommendations: All Versions
As SWMM5 modeling and GIS analysis can be computationally demanding, there can be significant benefits in utilizing a faster, multi-core CPU, a faster hard drive, and more system memory. For substantial improvements in productivity, PCSWMM is optimized to leverage a quad core (or more cores) CPU, 4 GB or more of system memory, a 3 button mouse with wheel, and 2 or more high resolution monitors (e.g. 1920x1200 pixels or greater).
PCSWMM can also set up a PCSWMM computational grid on a network of computers, whereby PCSWMM organizes any number of computers to work together as a single super computer for dramatically reduced run times for model calibration and scenario analysis. For this feature, an ethernet or wireless network of computers matching the above requirements/recommendations and a Enterprise license is required.
