Whether developing a SWMM5 model from scratch, updating an existing model, or running simulations and inferring results, modelers experience various challenges in achieving their modeling objectives. These challenges may include missing and inaccurate model data, overly long model run times, model instabilities, high continuity errors, and lack of confidence in model results. A good understanding of the causes for these issues and ways to troubleshoot them is a very important skill that is beneficial to SWMM modelers.
This workshop will discuss potential causes of modeling issues ranging from model input data issues, model development approaches, as well as inherent limitations in SWMM5. Troubleshooting these issues will be presented with available PCSWMM tools, reasonable SWMM parameter settings and alternative model development approaches to represent various hydrologic and hydraulic conditions.
Participants will develop the necessary skill and confidence to explore and apply the official EPA SWMM5 hydrology/hydraulics engine effectively in a 2D modeling capacity
Participants will develop the necessary skill and confidence to troubleshoot and address modeling issues related to SWMM5 hydrology/hydraulics simulations for both 1D and 2D models. PCSWMM will be used throughout the workshop to speed learning and program execution, and to enhance the understanding of the underlying EPA SWMM processes. During this course you will have an opportunity to learn from instructors during live sessions.
You will receive full workshop details with the course login details, prior to the workshop. If you have any questions or comments, please contact our workshop coordinator.
