OVERVIEW
This on-line PCSWMM and EPA SWMM5 training program focuses on getting both novice and advanced modelers up to speed on the full capabilities of these two integrated modeling packages. Learn the theory, time-saving tools and practical hands-on applications of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for stormwater, wastewater and watershed systems, with special emphasis on system design and/or remediation, green infrastructure (LIDs), integrated 1D-2D, flood modeling, and non-point source water quality.
PCSWMM is used to speed learning and program execution, and to enhance the understanding of the underlying EPA SWMM5 processes. Participants will develop the necessary skill and confidence to explore and apply the official EPA SWMM5 hydrology/hydraulics engine effectively in a wide variety of applications.
You will receive an information package on getting started and accessing the workshop material as soon as your registration is confirmed.
ACCREDITATION
You will earn 1.5 CEUs for participating in this approximately 16 hour online training course.

AGENDA
The course starts with an introduction to EPA SWMM5 and PCSWMM, hydrology and hydraulics theory, scenario analysis, and water quality modeling, with a focus on urban stormwater modeling, including dual-drainage networks, storage facility design and system evaluation using design storms.
The intermediate topics presented include Low Impact Developments (LIDs), wastewater and sanitary modeling, sensitivity, calibration and error analysis. This portion of the workshop focuses on understanding the wide variety of available model components and processes, and how to use them to represent real-world conditions.
Later in the course, the focus transitions to integrated 1D-2D flood modeling, debugging and correcting run errors, and time series analysis (including flow duration curve analysis and long-term rainfall disaggregation).
Video lectures on theory are interspersed with video demonstrations and over 40 step-by-step exercises using real-world examples and data sets, organized in a logical way to both allow you to choose what you want to focus on and lead you through both software packages at a comfortable pace.
