INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON WATER MANAGEMENT MODELING

We welcome you to present at ICWMM 2026

Call for abstracts

WHERE:

Westin Toronto Airport Hotel

WHEN:

February 25 - 27

The annual International Conference on Water Management Modeling is a forum for professionals and researchers from across North America and overseas to exchange ideas and experiences on current practices and emerging technologies.

This is effectively the 59th annual SWMM Users Group Meeting. The current title reflects a slightly broader interest, including stormwater, wastewater, watershed, and water distribution systems.

The atmosphere is relaxed; presentations are of a high standard, and spontaneity is achieved by accepting papers up to weeks before the event, which gives this conference a special character. Attending this conference will allow you to earn up to 2 CEUs.

Who will be attending?

  • Civil and Municipal Engineers
  • Environmental Engineers
  • Consultants
  • Instructors and Researchers from Universities and Research Institutions
  • Municipal and Government Engineering Professionals
  • Public Works Personnel
  • Policy Makers
  • Fluvial Geomorphologists
  • Urban Planners and Geographers
  • Aquatic Biologists
  • Ecologists
  • Landscape Engineers and Architects

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

If you have a water management project or innovation to showcase, and wish to present your work to a broad audience of water systems modelers, we invite you to submit an abstract.

Suggested topics include:

  • 1D, 2D, 3D surface water and/or integrated groundwater modeling
  • Water distribution system vulnerability/risk, rehabilitation, and management modeling
  • Green infrastructure (LIDs, SuDS), wetlands, and agricultural BMPs
  • Flood forecasting, flood risk assessment, floodplain mapping, and decision support systems
  • Water quality analyses and pollution management modeling, including SSOs, CSOs, and TMDLs
  • Climate change modeling analysis and system resiliency, vulnerability, security
  • Greywater system optimization and water conservation
  • Restoration and rehabilitation of watercourses, wetlands and lakes
  • Stormwater/pollution management modeling
  • Urban drainage system (storm and wastewater) design and analysis
  • Calibration, optimization, and error analysis (genetic algorithms and neural networks)
  • Field data monitoring, emerging instrumentation/operations, and asset condition rating assessments
  • Policy, legislation, permitting, program financing, and enforcement
  • Numerical and statistical methods, time series, and vector data analysis
  • Modeling data development and management using CAD, GIS, and asset management systems

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Abstracts or notices of intent are invited immediately. Please include a title or topic that you wish to cover, a brief outline (300 word maximum) and the names and affiliation information of the authors involved. Acceptance will continue to be communicated starting in January 2026.
